Micro-Change® Extreme Service Ethernet connectors are designed for use in harsh environments with wide temperature variations. The M12-style connectors are ideal for network and other Class 2 circuit applications. The sturdy design ensures the connectors will withstand high-vibration levels in chassis applications.
The heavy-duty M12 style (HDM12) connector is rated to a 100 pound cable pull force. The heavy-duty extreme M12 style (HDM12EX) is rated to a 300 pound cable pull force; HDM12EX connectors are patent pending. Molex is the first company to offer both HDM12 and HDM12EX connectors. Micro-Change Extreme Service Ethernet connectors are heavy-duty versions of standard Micro-Change connectors and receptacles.
Molex was an integral participant in the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) committee, which defined the J2839 standard for a rugged and robust connector for heavy-duty and off-highway vehicles. The standard defines the performance requirements, size and mating interfaces for M12-style 4-and 5-pole heavy-duty, high-speed datalink connection systems.
