Molex® applicators provide an effective method of applying a wide range of feed terminals to a pre-stripped discrete wire and cable. Molex offers the most advanced version of a “universal” crimping tool available. For mid to high volume applications, Molex offers industry standard applicator tools to increase the end users' output and their production flexibility. Molex applicators will process in most of the industry standard bench-top presses and wire possessing machines in the marketplace. For tools in this category, production rates of up to 2400 terminations per hour for bench-top discrete wire applications are not uncommon however; depending on the specific customer application. Wire processing machines with Molex applicators can see production rates in excess of 4000 termination per hour, again depending on the specific application.
The Molex FineAdjust™ Applicator is designed to provide an effective method of applying a wide range of side feed terminals to a pre-stripped discrete wire. It is an advanced version of a "universal" crimping tool. It is designed to allow for quick adjustments of crimp height, track position, and terminal feed without taking the applicator out of the press and without shimming. This allows crimp heights to maintain statistical control at or near mean, even after wire change over. This applicator works in the Molex® TM-2000™, TM-3000™ and TM-4000™ Universal Presses, as well as most industry standard presses with a shut-height of 135.80mm. The FineAdjust™ Applicator offers minimal setup time, is versatile, reliable, easy to install, and is designed for mid-volume to high-volume, semi or fully automatic operations. The FineAdjust™ Applicator is also compatible with most OEM bench-top presses and wire processing equipment (Artos, Mecal, Komax, Megomat, etc).
The Molex Mini-Mac™ Applicator is designed to provide an effective method of applying a wide range of side feed and back feed terminals to a pre-stripped discrete wire and cable. This applicator works in the Molex® TM-2000™, TM-3000™ and TM-4000™ Universal Press, as well as most industry standard presses with a press shut-height of 135.80mm. The Molex® Mini-Mac™ Applicator is designed to operate with numerous commercially available universal bench presses and fully automated wire processing machines. The Mini-Mac™ Applicator offers minimal setup time, is versatile, reliable, easy to install, and is designed for mid-volume to high-volume, semi or fully-automatic operations.
T2 and Terminator Die
The Molex Terminator Die is designed to provide an effective method of applying a wide range of side feed terminals to a pre-stripped discrete wire. It is an easy to use tool for the termination of a variety of Molex crimp terminals. Production flexibility is obtained using simple interchangeable tooling. The tooling is inexpensive, and unlike a modular applicator, all crimp height and terminal feed adjustments are located in the press or crimp module. The terminator die is ideally suited for mid-volume bench operation. The Molex T2 Terminator is the newer version tool that allows for track adjustment. The Molex T2 terminator will be replacing the Molex Terminator where possible. This replacement will occur for most 14 and smaller gages (16, 18, and 20), which will eventually be designed into the T2 Terminator Die. The Terminator and T2 dies work in the Molex TM-40™ and TM-42™ press systems, which have been replaced by the TM-3000™ and TM-4000™ Universal Press. Molex has designed a T2 Terminator Crimp Module to accept all of the existing Terminator and T2 tooling into the TM-3000™ and TM-4000™ press systems. This will allow more production flexibility by allowing the Molex Industry Standard Press System to accept the crimp tooling for the formerly exclusive Molex TM-40™ and TM-42™ press system.
Crimp Tape Module Base Unit
The taped terminal crimp module provides an effective method of applying a wide range of side feed tape-mounted terminals to pre-stripped discrete wire(s) from 4 to 30 AWG. The crimp module and press combination replaces the Molex ATP-301™ Press (OBSOLETE) and the Molex ATP-201™ Press (OBSOLETE). This crimp module operates only in the Molex TM-3000™ and TM-4000™ Universal Press Systems. The crimp module uses quick-change modular tooling, requires little or no adjustments, and is intended for mid-volume to high-volume, semi-automatic operations. The quick-change tooling is the exiting die sets that were used in the ATP-301 and ATP-201™ press systems, thus allowing for a reduced capital equipment investment.
